The global warm mix asphalt (WMA) workshop will be held at Marriott Hotel in Coralville, Iowa, October 30-31, 2013.  The purpose of this workshop is to bring government employees, contractors and manufacturers together to discuss about the past and future of the WMA technologies. Some states adopted the WMA technologies more actively than others and, to move forward, this workshop would serve as a platform to share the pros and cons of the WMA technologies with a focus on field application and performance. You can earn 6.5 Professional Development Hours (PDH's) and receive a certificate for a nominal fee of $10.

The registration fee is $300.

The exhibition booth is available for $850 that includes one registration with all meals.

To register for the workshop, please go to the registration site.

To reserve a hotel room for $99 per night (including one free parking space and free internet) at the Marriott Hotel, please make a reservation through the workshop participants only link Marriott Hotel and Conference Center website .

The best way to come to the hotel from the CID airport (or MLI airport) is to call Yellow Cab and ask them to pick you up at the airport (they offer flat rate of $35 from CID).  If you pick up any Taxi from the CID airport, the meter rate of the Taxi would be close to $60. Call  319-338-9777 from the airport before you get on the plane to CID and give your flight info and expected arrival time.  You can click here for more info. When you go to CID aiprot from the hotel Call Number One Cab at 319-930-2221 .  They do not have a license to pick up from the airport but they can drop a passenger to the airport and they charge $30.  Please click here for more info.

We will have two lunch speakers from University of Iowa, Prof. Allan Guymon, Co-Director of Photopolymerization Center and Prof. Karim Abdel-Malek, Director of Computer Aided Design.

Prof. Guymon will give a background overview on polymer and photopolymerization on October 30 and Prof. Abdel-Malek will give a presentation about driving simulator and virtual soldier.

Finally, we have a nationally well-known comedian Rex Havens who has appeared on HBO, Showtime, Comedy Central and Comic Relief. He has opened for Jerry Seinfeld, Jeff Foxworthy and Tim Allen. He will give his performance during the dinner on October 30. Click here and there to see his past performances.
